This might be too late to be of any significance, however tonight I have the absolute honour and pleasure of photographing the one and only, Michael Schenker as part of his Temple of Rock tour at The Ritz, Manchester, tonight.
Michael is an absolute rock god and arguably one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I was lucky enough to see him many years ago in my home town of Blackpool, when an old friend asked me and fiancée if we wanted to go see him one night. Not particularly knowing who he was, we turned up and I was blown away by his energy and his ability to make his famous axe sing, in particular the 6 minute + guitar solo in the middle of Rock Bottom!
Since I started on my live music photography adventure 15 months ago, I have had the privilege of photographing some amazing names in music, names most live music photographers will never get a chance to photograph, and Michael is another one of those names that I'm delighted to add to an already long list of people I have listened to for many years and would never have imagined that I would one day be photographing.
Finally, a big thank you to Taro Schenker for taking the time to organise tonight for me.
Pictures should be up tomorrow (14/12/14) afternoon some time.
